Home Health Care Workers in Need of PPE Amid Coronavirus Crisis
April 15, 2020
Some home health care workers, who are coming into contact with clients that have coronavirus, are in need of personal protective equipment to stay safe. Bayada Home Health Care has hundreds of offices worldwide providing healthcare assistance services at their clients’ homes. Now, many of those clients have tested positive. “Those who go to the hospital and do test positive, they’re being sent home. They’re not being kept in the hospital unless they have a medical need,” Alison Nowak, director of Bayada’s Braintree office, said. Nowak said the in-home health care workers are in desperate need of protective gear. “PPE, goggles, masks, gloves, whatever the community is able to support,” Nowak said.
