HCHB Responds to CMS on the 2024 Proposed Rule on Behalf of the Home-Based Care Industry

HCHB has been working closely with our customers and groups like the Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare on a response to the Home Health 2024 Proposed Rule. The letter has been formally submitted to CMS , along with other HCHB customers and advocates. We are sharing this information with all home health agencies in hopes that it is useful both with CMS and in legislative efforts on Capitol Hill—we believe it presents a very compelling set of arguments.

Together we can work to ensure cost-effective and patient-preferred home health care continues to serve America’s most fragile and vulnerable seniors and homebound patients. You can help us advocate for the industry by using either of the following links to send a letter directly to the appropriate legislators.

2024 Impact Model

HCHB creates an impact model after every CMS proposed and final rule that gives our users insight into how these changes will impact their business models well before the changes take effect. HCHB users can compare how they would be reimbursed under the proposed model versus how they are being reimbursed today. This comparison gives leaders the opportunity to understand the impact the proposed rule will have on their specific organization.

The work we have done to empower our customers also allows HCHB the opportunity to examine the effects of proposed and final rules in aggregate. Homecare Homebase holds detailed data on 44% of all Medicare Home Health patients which creates a compelling picture of the industry. HCHB is using this data driven approach to educate Congress and arm industry advocates with the information they need.

Explore the results of this year’s HCHB Impact Model in our webinar with Home Health Care News and Amedisys.

HCHB will continue to unpack the findings from the 2024 HCHB Impact Model at HHCN’s FUTURE conference August 30th-31st in Nashville, TN.
