Annual Scholarship program supports home care aide professional development.
Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) announced the launch of the 2024 Home Care Aide Scholarship Program. This annual initiative awards $1,000 scholarships to 15 outstanding home care aides nationwide. The program aims to recognize the dedication of these essential workers while supporting their professional development and addressing the industry’s growing demand for qualified aides.
According to HCHB CEO Scott Decker, home care aides play a crucial role in allowing individuals to age in place. NAHC President William A. Dombi emphasized that the program helps ease financial challenges for aides pursuing further education.
The scholarship is a gesture of appreciation and a means to help them further their education and skills. Nominations are open until September 30, 2024, and winners will be announced at the 2024 Home Care and Hospice Conference in October. Celebrations will continue on social media in early November during National Home Care and Hospice Month.
