Staffing, compliance among top concerns in changing marketplace.
Dallas, TX – Homecare Homebase (HCHB) the nation’s mobile home health and hospice software leader and industry publication Home Health Care News have released new survey results with key insights into the most sweeping home health regulatory changes in decades. The 2019 Home Health Care Outlook Report details how agencies are gearing up for the Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) set to take effect in January 2020.
HCHB President Scott Decker noted that the complex new coding and billing requirements are putting extra pressure on agencies already struggling with recruitment and high turnover with the lowest unemployment rate in over 40 years. “Our home health agency clients are counting on us to help streamline everything from scheduling to compliance while boosting staff utilization and patient outcomes in advance of fast-approaching PDGM.”
Home Health Care News Editor Tim Mulanney adds that with most agencies already gearing up for PDGM, streamlined scheduling and billing technology remain crucial to success under the new payment model. “Our survey of over 680 market participants highlights the most pressing operational challenges ahead. We also reveal how home health providers can ease staffing and billing issues with advanced software for increased efficiency. With better insight into the marketplace, we hope to help agencies stay informed and make smarter business decisions for long-term success.”
