Michelle is very dedicated to helping others. Michelle portrays our mission statement here at Covenant. She strives to make us a better place. If she knows the answer to any question related to HCHB, Covenant’s Processes and Policies or regulations about home care in general she is willing help. Even if she doesn’t know the answer, she is aways willing to assist in finding the answer/solution to a problem or issue. She developed a spreadsheet to help track our plan of care outcomes. She looks into CMS regulations and develops processes to follow to ensure we are doing per those guidelines. She makes our team better.
What does being a Gold Standard Award honoree mean to you?
I am honored to be acknowledged for the hard work, dedication, and the positive impact I’ve made at our agency, and within the homecare industry over my career and validates my efforts to uphold the highest standards and inspires continued growth and improvement. This recognition aligns with my values of compassion, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in serving others.
What is a valuable lesson you’ve learned from working in your field?
One valuable lesson I’ve learned from working in my field is the importance of empathy and active listening. Understanding the needs and concerns of clinicians, patients, and leadership is crucial for effective communication and problem-solving. This lesson has shaped my approach by emphasizing the value of truly hearing others and responding thoughtfully. It has also fostered a more collaborative and supportive work environment, leading to better outcomes and stronger relationships. This insight has been instrumental in my personal and professional growth.
What guidance or words of wisdom would you share with those who want to follow a similar path to yours?
Success is a journey – embrace continuous learning, be inquisitive, and ask for clarification and guidance. Be resilient, stay passionate and purpose driven. Remain committed to your growth and don’t be afraid to seek help or mentorship along the way.
