What does being a Gold Standard Award honoree mean to you?

I am truly honored and humbled being recognized as a golden award recipient. This recognition means so much to me because it reflects my commitment to providing high-quality evidence based patient centered care to every individual. I have the privilege of serving as a Homecare nurse I believe that excellent nursing care goes beyond clinical knowledge and skills is about listening to my patience respecting the individual needs and goals, advocating for their well-being and building trust with them and their families. I strive to provide compassionate care that promotes safety dignity, independence, and the best possible outcomes in the comfort of their own homes, I am grateful to my patience in their families for allowing me to be part of their healthcare journey, and to my colleagues and organization for the continued support and collaboration this award inspires me to continue learning growing and giving my very best to every patient I serve thank you for this meaningful recognition. I am proud to be a Homecare nurse and deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

What is a valuable lesson you’ve learned from working in your field?

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned as a home care nurse is the importance of understanding each patient’s family situation and respecting their culture. When we take the time to listen and to truly understand where our patients and families are coming from, we can provide care that is not only clinically appropriate but also compassionate.  I’ve learned that building trust, showing respect, and meeting patients where they are can make a significant difference in their healthcare experience and outcomes.

What advice would you give?

Being a good nurse is not only about having the clinical skills and knowledge it’s about connecting with people, advocating for them and treating every patient and family with dignity and compassion.
