Home Health Leaders Urge Collaboration with CMS to Refine Proposed Home Health Groupings Model in HHPPS Proposed Rule

The Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare urged CMS to work collaboratively with the home health provider community to address significant flaws in the Home Health Groupings Model used in last week's proposed payment reform that will cut Medicare home health payments by almost $1 billion.

Amedisys CEO: Groupings Model ‘Not Over Until It’s Over’

Amedisys CEO Paul Kusserow challenged the CMS proposed groupings model that would change the unit of payment for home health agencies from a 60-day episode of care to two 30-day episodes of care, which amounts to an estimated $950 million overall payment cut. He echoes other industry groups upset by the proposed rule released last week.
